HOLIDAY AT HOME
Petersfield and Liss URC will be running its third Holiday at Home for the three days of Monday 20th–Wednesday 22nd August 2018, 10:00am-3:30pm. Our aim is to provide an enjoyable holiday experience for older people who may find it difficult to go away for an annual summer holiday. This activity is open to people who attend this church, people who attend other churches or those who do not attend church at all.

Each day there will be a choice of activities including arts and crafts, games, and an opportunity for a massage or manicure in our ‘pamper room’; a freshly cooked two course lunch is served before the afternoon entertainment. Transport to and from the church each day can be arranged if required, so please don’t not worry about how you may get here, it can all be sorted out for you. The entertainment programme is yet to be confirmed, but if the holidays we held in 2016 and 2017 are anything to go by, this year’s event is sure to be a very enjoyable experience for all concerned.

Everything is now in place for Holiday at Home on 20th, 21st and 22nd August. If you are still wondering if you would like to come, it’s not too late to book a place; please talk to me as soon as possible. Petersfield Ukulele band will be providing the afternoon entertainment on the last afternoon, the 22nd August, and the Holiday at Home team would love to invite our church family to join us. The music starts at 2pm and usually covers everything from George Formby to the Beatles and Elvis. If the sun is shining we will sit out on the terrace under the shade of the canopy. The church car park is likely to be very full, and there will be taxis arriving at 3.30 to take guests home, so it is probably best to park elsewhere. The Ukulele band fundraises for the Rosemary Foundation, and we are very happy to support such a worthwhile cause. I will write an account of Holiday at Home for the September issue of the Messenger, hopefully with some photographs too.

Petersfield and Liss URC greatly appreciate financial support this year from District Councillor James Abdey, which means that the cost for the three day holiday is only £15 per person.
